White sage (Salvia Apiana)
From the coastal mountains of California.
This is a broad leaf sage which is prized for its strong aromatic properties.

Desert Sage
This plant grows in the high deserts of the West.
Sage is burned in ceremonies to drive out bad spirits or feelings (purification)
and is valued for its aromatic properties.

Cedar (Calocedrus decurrens
Cedar bundles from Oregon.
These bundles average about 4½ inches long and 1 inch in diameter.
Cedar is often used in the sweat lodge ceremony.
A few pinches are thrown on the red-hot rocks,
immediately sparking into a yellow glow and releasing their aroma.
